Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Be at E3 This Year

Well, bummer.

It’s a bit of a bummer, though I guess it’s to be expected, but Cyberpunk 2077 will not be at this year’s E3 conference in Los Angeles. CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski recently told Eurogamer at a Polish conference that they might have something to show at E3, but it will most definitely not be Cyberpunk. Iwinski states that there’s still a lot of work to be done with this game, and he also mentions that expectations will undoubtedly be raised after a developer releases a game to critical acclaim.

“It might happen that we will be at E3 and we will show something at E3, but I just want to make it clear it’s not Cyberpunk,” he told me at Polish conference Digital Dragons recently. “We still have a lot of work to do with Cyberpunk.”

“When you release a game like The Witcher and create the expansions, the perception is not the pre-Witcher 3 expectation,” said Iwinski. “The bar is higher – and it’s externally and internally as well.”

Iwinski ends the Cyberpunk 2077 discussion by firmly stating that they’ll only bring it up again when they have something substantial to show and explain to their fans. Till then, they’ll be continuing development on that game and possibly other projects as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first unveiled back in January 2013, and we haven’t really heard anything new about it since then.
