Below was supposed to originally launch this summer. However, the company said today in a statement on their website, “our team worked hard to make that a reality,” but the studio “decided it isn’t ready.”

“We knew the game was there, and we’re super proud of it, but we also knew it needed more time to make sure it lives up to our studio’s standards, and the quality that you expect from our games.” They also went on to say that Below was their “most ambitious undertaking, and we’re just not quite done excavating its depths, or polishing all of its facets.”

No new release date has been given for the game, but the company has will make another announcement once they have a “firm release date.”
