Earlier this month, Niantic announced that Alolan Pokémon would be coming to Pokémon GO.
At the time, a set date for the release of these tropical variants was not made but Niantic said they would make their way into the game in the coming weeks. Well, it’s only been a week and already, at least one is available to catch in Pokémon GO, according to a blog post from the Pokémon GO team.
“Trainers,
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are coming to the Nintendo Switch in November 2018! Once released, Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region that you have caught in Pokémon GO can be brought into these two new Nintendo Switch games. In celebration of this announcement, Alolan Exeggutor will now appear all over the world in Pokémon GO! This is the first Alolan form of a Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region to arrive in Pokémon GO. Keep an eye out for this Pokémon’s tall and stately presence all over the world, where it will appear more often for a limited time. Enjoy, Trainers, and stay tuned for more news about Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! soon.

In other news, during the trailer for the upcoming Pokémon games, Let’s Go! Pikachu and Let’s Go! Eevee, a new Pokémon was teased and it seems that it will be coming to Pokémon GO first. In the trailer, someone is seen playing Pokémon GO when a mystery gift box appears on their phone’s screen. Below, it says a new Pokémon is coming, which was later confirmed in a post-conference Q&A to be brand-new and never-before-seen.
While Alolan Exeggutor is available now, when other Alolan variants will arrive to the mobile game is currently unknown, but they can be expected to appear in the coming weeks.
