Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has won fans over for the most part, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tweaks and improvements players are hoping Nintendo will incorporate moving forward. Here’s everything you need to know about Smash Bros Ultimate update 1.2.

Unfortunately, in typical Nintendo fashion, the latest Smash Bros. patch notes don’t exactly provide a wealth of information as to what changes specifically have been made.

What we certainly do know is that the update has “adjusted the difficulty of approaching challengers” in offline mode. As for online play, it lists the following adjustments:

• When matchmaking in Quickplay, the Format setting of your Preferred Rules will be prioritized more. This may cause matchmaking to take more time. Also, there is no guarantee that matchmaking will be done exactly as shown in the set Preferred Rules.
• Increased the stability of the synchronous connection within Battle Arenas.

The most notable changes, however, come with the least explanation as to their specifics. Nintendo makes mention of “game balance adjustments” and “various gameplay fixes” without ever really going into detail.

More frustrating still is that we know exactly which characters have been altered but are none the wiser on what exactly it is that’s been adjusted. Here’s the list:

• Luigi
• Ice Climbers
• Young Link
• Olimar
• Toon Link
• Villager
• Greninja
• Pac-Man
• Duck Hunt
• Isabelle

The update will launch next week, but there’s a bit of a catch: you won’t be able to watch replays made with previous versions.

However, Nintendo does provide a workaround for players wanting to keep their old videos after the new update goes live. You’ll need to access the Vault, find Replays, Replay Data, and then select Convert to Video.
