MLB: The Show, for generations now, has been the only high-end baseball sim in town, and for years, if you were on any other platform outside of Sony’s ecosystem you were all out of luck. It’s not going to be that way forever though. If you’re here, you’re likely wondering if MLB: The Show 20 is coming to Xbox One this year.
MLB The Show 20 & Xbox One
OK so we have mostly bad news, but a little bit of good news. For years, we’ve been checking in on the status of MLB The Show ever appearing on Xbox One – hopelessly if we’re being honest – seeing if maybe things have changed.
Personally, I never thought I’d see the day, but we did receive confirmation last year that, in the future, MLB The Show games would finally go multi-platform. This was a truly rare moment of Sony allowing its exclusives onto other platforms, something that the brass might finally be warming up to.
That said, it’s not happening this year. MLB The Show 20 will not be on Xbox and will remain exclusive to the PS4 this year, but thankfully this is going to be the last year that this will be the case.
Starting with the 2021 season, Sony’s baseball sim will be multi-platform, presumably on Xbox One and Switch, as hinted at by their respective official Twitters.
For this year though, if you’re starving for baseball on Xbox One, RBI Baseball is a thing if you don’t mind a lower-end experience.
That does it for whether MLB: The Show 20 is coming to Xbox One. Sorry we didn’t have better news for you for this year, but at least this will be the last time we’ll have to be the bearer of bad news. By this time next year you’ll hopefully be swinging away on your Xbox One or your new Xbox Series X.
