You access Buddy Recon on the Mewocenaries screen at either the Buddy Plaza or the Buddy Piazza, depending on if you are in Kamura or Elgado. In order to open up the option of using Buddy Recon, you will need to complete two Rank 1 quests in Elgado Outpost or Kamura Outpost. Once you have done so, you unlock the option of deploying a buddy to a recon point before a hunt.

During the hunt, you can then choose to fast travel to the selected recon point to save yourself some traveling time. However, do note that you can only deploy a single buddy to one spot per location, and you would need to have already explored the area previously.

That is all you’ll need to know on how to use Buddy Recon in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
