How to Save Dylan in The Quarry

There are two main chapters where Dylan’s life hangs in the balance in The Quarry. You’ll need to make the right choices if you want him to survive.

Chapter 5

After Ryan and Dylan are tasked with a mission to access a radio, they find themselves trapped in a cabin with a fearful monster lurking around. The characters soon notice that Nick, Abigail, and Kaitlyn are close by, so they quickly devise a plan to warn them.

If you’ve already broken into the cabin door as Abigail in the beginning, the group easily avoids the creature and is safe. But unfortunately, this action causes the beast to attack Ryan and Dylan’s cabin.

The monster bites Ryan’s hand once he tries to fix a broken wire. No matter what you do, it would be best if you stopped the infection from spreading. To do this, choose the option ‘Desperate’ to cut or shoot off his hand.

You’ll have to decide whether you want to use the chainsaw or shotgun. We’ve tested out both of these choices, and either work, as long as you stop the infection.

If you want to save Dylan’s hand, you’ll have to make a specific decision in Chapter 1. All you need to do is not break the cabin door while playing as Abigail. Now Nick, Abigail, and Kaitlyn will have difficulty opening the door, resulting in the monster chasing after them instead. Don’t worry; the group makes it out okay, and Dylan will have both of his hands intact.

Chapter 9

Later down the line, Dylan will face death again in Chapter 9. The only way to save him is by teaming up with Kaitlyn in the junkyard. But unfortunately, after Dylan reaches the crane, he realizes the monster is on its way to her.

Here’s what you need to do to save both characters:

  1. Choose the option ‘Warn Kaitlyn.’

Once you do this, she will hide in the car.Kaitlyn in The Quarry

  2. Press ‘Sound the horn.’

The monster will still attack the vehicle, so you’ll need to blast a loud noise to antagonize the beast.

  3. Successfully complete the Quick Time Events.

The beast has its sights set on Ryan. So be prepared for some QTE and button smashing. Do this correctly, and he will light the creature on fire.

  4. Smash the Command button.

The monster will drop down and go back to Kaitlyn. You must do a few more QTEs to drop the car on the creature. After this, Dylan and Kaitlyn will survive this event in The Quarry.Dylan in The Quarry
