Despite spending plenty of time running around the woods in his underwear throughout The Quarry, Jacob only finds himself in mortal danger a few times compared to the rest.
Chapter 3
Jacob
While spending time with Emma in the waters by the dock, we will hear the scream from Abigail in the woods. At this point, if you have chosen to steal the rotator arm, players will have the choice of diving into the water to retrieve it or go help Abigail. The former will require some QTE success and choosing to detangle yourself in the water to prevent Jacob from drowning.
Eventually, Jacob will be caught by a trap set by the hunters. Do not be aggressive, and nothing bad will happen.
Chapter 4
Ryan
Shortly after the beginning of this chapter, the group will hear some rustling in the bushes. With the choice of firing the shotgun, do not shoot on both occasions.
Chapter 6
Jacob
Still wandering the woods in his underwear in search of Emma, the pair will reunite before the monster attacks. Successfully hiding from the monster doesn’t mean Jacob is safe, and he will get caught in a bear trap. Choose to Pry Open the trap, and Jacob will then get hauled off into the Hackett’s residence.
Chapter 8
Ryan
While wandering the mines and entering the bottom levels of the Hackett’s house, Ryan and Laura will come upon electrified cages with Jacob and a monster trapped in their respective cages. Choose not to open the cage, and stop Laura from shooting the monster. Before leaving, help out Jacob by heading to the breakers.
Simply choose Breakers 1 and 2, choose to continue, and then pick Breakers 2 and 3 to save Jacob from his nightmare. This will ensure the frat boy’s survival.
