During Chapter 7 of The Quarry, you’ll be playing as Laura in a flashback scene at the police station. After Laura and Max were captured and arrested by Officer Hackett, events unfold that shed more light on why the police office was so insistent the two went to the motel. At one point, Laura will be able to explore the police station to search for clues on exactly what’s going on at Hackett Quarry. While you don’t have to in order to advance the story, players can get Officer Hackett’s computer password in The Quarry to get some more information on what’s happening at the camp.
Before we go any further, it’s worth noting that we’re diving into some spoiler territory for The Quarry, as this is pretty late on in the story. While we won’t give too much away about what the monster is or exactly what’s going on, there are some unavoidable spoilers here, so turn back if you want to enjoy this campy teen horror spoiler-free.
In order to access Officer Hackett’s computer, you actually need to go and find the passcode within the police station based on the hint the computer gives you, which is “Birthday.” You can’t just enter it in yourself.
How to Get Officer Hackett’s Computer Password in The Quarry
First, return to the main room of the police station and then use the stairs to reach the upper floor.
Head into the first door you come across and interact with the birthday card. This is on the notice board in this room, so walk over to it and interact with it and Laura will get the first of two clues she needs to crack Officer Hackett’s password.
Now, head into the last room at the very end of the metal walkway. Here, you want to turn left as soon as you’ve gone through the door (that’s Laura’s left), and you’ll find a calendar on the wall. Conveniently, Officer Hackett has marked ‘Birthday Drinks’ on there, so Laura now knows his full date of birth.
What’s on Officer Hackett’s Computer in The Quarry?
Return to Officer Hackett’s computer and interact with it again and Laura will enter the code. Once she does, you can read through emails, as well as listen to some of the Bizarre Yet Bonafide podcast that Ryan was talking about and listening to earlier in the game.
Not only does this provide a nice tidbit of information on what’s going on at Hackett’s Quarry, but you also earn the ‘Bizarre Yet Bonafide’ achievement or trophy for doing so.
