The Monster in The Quarry Explained
The camp counselors of Hackett’s Quarry, at first, believe bears are the predators hunting them. However, they eventually learn that the monster is a werewolf.
Players discover this when Laura explains her situation to Ryan and Dylan. She confesses that her boyfriend, Max, has become a werewolf after getting bitten by one.
While you battle against the beasts, you’ll notice that they are extremely powerful; they can lift any human or object up easily. Additionally, these monsters in The Quarry have many more enhanced skills, including impeccable night vision and sharp claws.
The full moon causes those infected by the virus to transform. Their human bodies explode while the hairless beast emerges within them. These monsters are uncontrollable and will hurt anyone, even those they love. Although, The Quarry’s werewolves are not in this state permanently and revert to their usual selves by the end of the night.
Beating The Quarry Werewolf
The beast also does have some weaknesses that players learn while playing the game. For example, The Quarry’s monster suffers from hydrophobia. We see this when Nick (pre-transformation) believes he is dying once Abigail pushes him into the pool.
Like any werewolf story, the monsters from The Quarry can die from silver. Whether it is a sword, bullet, etc., as long it contains this element, they have the power to kill this creature. The camp counselors use these weaknesses to try and live through the night.
