With the arrival of the Blue Mage in FFXIV, users of this new class will be embarking on a quest to learn as many spells as they possibly can. There are a bunch of different spells to learn, with one being 1000 Needles. Here’s how to learn 1000 Needles as Blue Mage in FFXIV.

While the Blue Mage can be a powerful character class to have in FFXIV, you’ll need to first put in a bit of elbow grease. The Blue Mage must learn specific spells before they can go about casting them.

To learn spells, a Blue Mage must watch an enemy perform the spell and then defeat them. After this, you’ll then have a chance of learning the spell, but there is a bit of RNG at play here, so you might have to farm specific enemy types for a while before you finally learn it.

To learn 1000 Needles as a Blue Mage in FFXIV, you’ll need to head to Southern Thanalan (20, 10). Here, you’ll want to seek out Flowering Sabotender as part of the “Flower Power” levequest.

This is the lowest level enemy (level 24) that’s been found thus far that you can learn 1000 Needles off, thanks to the community over on Reddit.

Players can also learn 1000 Needles from Sabotender Bailaor, as these can also cast the spell. Once they do, defeat them in battle and you’ll have a chance of learning the spell.

This spell can also be learned in Cutter’s Cry by watching Sabotender Desertors performing the spell and defeating them in battle, though this will require you to be level 38, as opposed to level 24 for our previously mentioned method.

It’s worth noting, however, that 1000 Needles is a high-rank spell in FFXIV, and so has a lower percentage chance of you learning it from an enemy. As such, this may take significantly longer for you to grind out learning than, Blood Drain, for example, which is a very low-rank spell with a high percentage chance.

As such, don’t be too disheartened if you don’t learn a Blue Mage spell right away in FFXIV. Just keep grinding away and sooner or later you’ll eventually learn it.
