Destiny 2: How to Get Dark Drinker 2.0 AKA Falling Guillotine

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

There aren’t many weapons left from Destiny that people actually want that haven’t yet come over the sequel. However, the exotic sword trio is certainly an exception to that statement. Dark Drinker is perhaps the most beloved of the three, and it sort of kind of is back now. Here’s how to get Destiny 2’s version of Dark Drinker, or more accurately, Falling Guillotine.

How to Get Dark Drinker 2.0 AKA Falling Guillotine in Destiny 2

Let us be perfectly clear from the start of this guide. Dark Drinker is not in Destiny 2. While that might be disappointing, hang on a second because we kind of got something better than just getting Dark Drinker in Destiny 2. We got a legendary version called Falling Guillotine.

Falling Guillotine is a new legendary sword that is part of a new archetype that lets you do Dark Drinker’s iconic sword spin the same way you did it back in the original Destiny. The only catch is that you do play by the new sword energy rules put in place in Season of the Worthy, so spamming it isn’t as effective.

On the bright side though, Falling Guillotine is legendary so you don’t need to burn an exotic slot, and it has random rolls so you can play around with various builds.

Getting Falling Guillotine From Season Pass

You can get Falling Guillotine as part of the free trek of Season of the Arrivals season pass at level 30.

After that, it should begin appearing in Umbral Engrams as well. Of course, as of Season of the Arrivals, you can now focus these new engrams, so with some grinding, you can create a steadier stream of rolls for your Falling Guillotine.

It’s not super clear how old weapons will be carried over in Year 4. We know that if you have them they’ll be phased out of high-end content, but whether you’ll ever be able to get Falling Guillotine after Season of the Arrivals is another question we don’t have an answer to so definitely make sure to go get it before the season ends and we move onto Year 4 and Beyond Light.

That’s all you need to know about Destiny 2 Dark Drinker 2.0 AKA Falling Guillotine in Season of the Arrivals. Happy farming for your favorite role and spinning around like a crazy person.
