6 Best Games to Buy in the PS4 Totally Digital Sale Right Now

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The PS4 Totally Digital sale is making a comeback this month and discounts a bunch of fantastic digital-only and digital-first games such as A Way Out, Indivisible, and Undertale.

The sale is live for a whopping two weeks and will come to an end on Feb. 5, so if you’re looking for the best games to purchase during the sale, look no further.

A Way Out

A Way Out, best xbox one couch co op games, best xbox one local multiplayer games

Original Price: $29.99

Sale Price: $17.99

A Way Out is a cooperative action-adventure game that comes from Josef Fares, the director behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and is played entirely with a second player with there not being a single-player option at all.

You play as one of the main characters of your choosing and by working together with a second player, you must figure out how to escape from prison and evade the police.

The game isn’t long either as you can probably finish it one long afternoon with a friend of yours online or even using the local split-screen mode.

It’s one of the most enjoyable cooperative games that I’ve played in a very long time, so if you need a fun co-op game that’s on sale right now, check this one out.

Indivisible

indivisible, xbox game pass

Original Price: $39.99

Sale Price: $26.79

Indivisible is a neat little RPG that won’t take up a ton of your time. The story is based on Southeast Asian mythology and you follow a girl named Ajna who must go on a big adventure in which she meets a variety of other characters that end up joining her party, like any other typical JRPG.

When you’re not participating in turn-based battles, you’ll be exploring 2D environments with some light platforming, but the combat is definitely the best part of the game as it’s fast-paced and engrossing and thanks to the large cast of characters, you can always change things up if you don’t like your current setup.

Dead Cells + Rise of the Giant

Dead Cells

Original Price: $24.99

Sale Price: $17.49

Dead Cells is a roguelike Metroidvania that uses death as a prominent mechanic. You play as a corpse that has to make its way through procedurally generated stages full of monsters and puzzles, but you can find cool weapons and skills along the way. Once you die though, which will happen a lot, you come back to life with those weapons lost.

But you can get cells from defeating enemies and you can use them to essentially reroll to get new weapons and powers before starting out on your run once again.

Dead Cells is brutally challenging and will require a lot of time before you… get good. It asks a lot from you but once you get sucked into it, it feels so rewarding and satisfying to venture further and further into the dungeons.

Also, this package comes with the Rise of the Giants expansion which features new bosses, items, and levels, so that’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Sayonara Wild Hearts

Original Price: $12.99

Sale Price: $9.74

I first played/reviewed Sayonara Wild Hearts when it first launched for Apple Arcade last year and immediately fell in love with the visual style, the bright pop soundtrack, and the story being told.

It’s essentially a playable pop album with each stage representing a different track and theme as well as a variety of gameplay changes. In one level you might be riding a motorcycle through a city and then another level will have you flying through the sky and then giving a smooch to a big ol’ dragon –it’s amazing.

I also would recommend playing it on PS4 because the touch controls on mobile aren’t the best, so make sure to buy it during this Totally Digital sale ASAP.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition

Travis Strikes Again, how to get Ramen and what it does

Original Price: $39.99

Sale Price: $23.99

Travis Touchdown is the titular assassin from the newest entry in the No More Heroes series and Travis Strikes Again is a sort of spin-off that plays completely differently to the mainline action series.

Yes, you still have Travis’ trusty katana energy sword, but the game is played mostly through a top-down, isometric perspective while you swing your sword around and use other flashy skills.

Travis and his rival get sucked into a video game console, which leads both of them on a race through multiple genres of video games to escape back to the real world.

It’s the perfect game to play while we all wait for No More Heroes 3 to come out later this year.

Undertale

Undertale, Best Games With a Karma or Morality System

Original Price: $14.99

Sale Price: $12.74

Undertale was a huge indie hit when it first launched on PC and since then, the title, its characters, and the creator, Toby Fox, have become very popular.

Undertale is inspired by classic Nintendo RPGs such as Earthbound and tells a story of a young kid who has fallen into a scary underground world.

You meet memorable characters like Sans and you can beat the entire game without killing an enemy. You’ll also be rewarded with different endings depending on how you play through the game.

If you’ve yet to experience this seminal RPG, this Totally Digital sale is the perfect opportunity to dive right into this wacky world.
