How to Get Quicksilver Storm Catalyst in Destiny 2

You're gonna be waiting a while before you can get the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst in Destiny 2!

Ahead of the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion’s release in February next year, Bungie has released the Quicksilver Storm exotic auto rifle. This weapon is part of the upcoming expansion, but Guardians can get their hands on it right now by preordering Lightfall. There’s also a catalyst coming for it, and given the weapon itself is in the game now, some players may be wondering how to get the Quicksilver Storm catalyst in Destiny 2. Well, unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait a little longer than you did for the weapon itself.

How to Get Quicksilver Storm Catalyst

The Quicksilver Storm Catalyst cannot be obtained until the Lightfall expansion releases on Feb. 28, 2023. Even though the preorder page for the expansion suggests that you’ll get both the Quicksilver Storm exotic rifle itself, as well as the catalyst, we’ve been able to confirm that you don’t get access to the Catalyst right now.

As soon as we have any further information on when the catalyst is available, and what you need to do in order to obtain it once it does go live in the game, we’ll update this post and let you know.

What Does Quicksilver Storm Catalyst Do?

As is the case with all catalysts, Quicksilver Storm will give it some kind of added effect or buff to make it even more powerful. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there’s no official word from Bungie on what the catalyst will do.

Again, we’ll have to wait for the full Lightfall expansion to drop early next year before we’ll find out more information on how the catalyst will work, but as soon as we do know, we’ll update this post.

How to Be Ready for Quicksilver Storm Catalyst’s Release

Thanks to light.gg, we know that the catalyst itself will require players to defeat 700 targets before they can unlock and use it.

As such, in the few months we’ve got until Lightfall releases, we’d recommend using the Quicksilver Storm as much as you can in order to box off that defeated targets requirement. That way, as soon as the catalyst does become available in-game, you can obtain and equip it right away.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get Quicksilver Storm catalyst in Destiny 2.
