With Sony recently teasing and then finally rolling out a new system software update that enabled support for Variable Refresh Rates (VRR) for compatible televisions, the ball is now in the court of developers to decide if they want to up the graphical game for their titles. Tango Gameworks is one of the studios that has taken up the mantle, with a new update for Ghostwire: Tokyo that brings plenty of improvements, including support for VRR.
In essence, the use of VRR will dynamically sync the refresh rate of the display to the PS5 console’s graphical output. This enhances visual performance for PS5 games by minimizing or eliminating visual artifacts, such as frame pacing issues and screen tearing. So players can expect gameplay in Ghostwire: Tokyo to be smoother, have crispier graphics, as well as reduced input lag thanks to the VRR support.
In addition, the new update also reduces the noise of the helpful but incessant Tengu with a new adjustable volume option, a multitude of bug fixes, and improved overall performance. Be sure to check out the full patch notes for all of the details.
