Japan Getting Inevitable Atelier Ryza $260 Thigh Mouse Pad

Atelier Ryza broke popularity records among the Atelier series, and many believe the protagonist's design played a part in that success.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and its sequel Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy broke popularity records among the wider Atelier JRPG series, and many believe the protagonist’s character design played a part in that success.

You may be familiar with the Japanese “oppai mouse pads” built with a generous gel padding to let the user’s wrist comfortably rest on a character’s bust, but Atelier Ryza is getting something different.

Hobby Japan just made Ryza’s own mouse pad available for pre-order but its gel is located in her thighs, and it’s over four pounds of gel (1,850g). The pad is described as “life-sized” and it’s rather big, measuring 700mm by 400mm (27.5 inches by 15.7 inches) for 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of total weight.

It’s also not cheap, priced at 29,800 yen (which translates to just north of $260 at the current exchange rate).

Pre-orders will be accepted until February 3, 2022, and the product is scheduled to ship between April and May.
