Azur Lane publisher Yostar revealed that the next event in the popular mobile theme will mark the return of the idol theme.
As such, several shipgirls will receive a new µ versio, which will be separate from their normal version.
Among those receiving an idol-themed makeover are Taihou, Roon, Dido, Baltimore, Le Malin, Tashkent, Albacore, and Illustrious.
Again, it’s worth mentioning that those aren’t skins, but entirely separate version of each shipgirl.
If you’re unfamiliar with Azur Lane, it’s is a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.
Recently, the game celebrated its third anniversary in Japan and you can check out the music video featuring popular musician T.M.Revolution and an anime-style trailer.
If you’re not into mobile games, Idea Factory International recently launched Azur Lane: Crosswave for PS4 and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version coming to the west in February 2021.
If you’re curious about the franchise’s popularity in Japan, you can check out my report about the anniversary event from last year that pretty much literally invaded Akihabara.
