The Game Awards 2019 Nominees Announced With a Packed GOTY List

The nominees for The Game Awards 2019 have been announced with several games tied for at least three nominees in several categories.

The several games that have three or more nominees include Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Disco Elysium, Final Fantasy XIV, Fortnite, Gris, Outer Wilds, and Sayonara Wild Hearts with the full nominee list boasting 107 different games, individuals, and teams across gaming and esports.

The nominee list for Game of the Year 2019 are Control, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and The Outer Worlds.

Last year’s event saw the soft reboot of God of War take home Game of the Year with Red Dead Redemption 2 winning four categories such as Best Narrative, Best Score/Music, and Best Performance with Roger Clark as Arthur Morgan.

Other game announcements are expected to be unveiled. Last year’s event announced everything from a new Mortal Kombat title to Rocket League DLC.

The Game Awards 2019 will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Dec. 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Anyone can vote and see the entire nominee list at the official Game Awards website.
