The Elder Scrolls: Blades is Now Available Through Early Access

Earlier today, Bethesda announced it wasn’t quite done with its 25th Anniversary celebration of The Elder Scrolls. The company started off strong with a free copy of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (which was originally supposed to be available for one day but is now free until March 31st) and is continuing slightly stronger with an Early Access test for The Elder Scrolls: Blades.

In case you’ve forgotten, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is an upcoming mobile games that puts gamers in the boots of one of the Blades, a group of elite warriors and spies who serve the Empire and the Dragonborn. Bethesda promises an epic, AAA experience where players can customize their characters, explore countless dungeons, and witness new storylines, all on a smartphone or tablet.

However, Bethesda won’t let just anyone into the Early Access test. Gamers who want to participate need to register on the official The Elder Scrolls: Blades website and receive an email invitation. If participant hopefuls don’t obtain the invite soon, they shouldn’t fret; Bethesda is sending out emails in waves, so gamers might get one later.

Furthermore, Bethesda recently updated The Elder Scrolls: Blades’ FAQ page with some pertinent Early Access information. Apparently, the Early Access test isn’t under any NDA, so participants can take and share as many videos and screenshots as they like. In fact, Bethesda encourages it. Moreover, all progress and purchases will carry over into the final release, which is good news for gamers who plan to spend a lot of time (and money) on the Early Access.

Since this is an Early Access test, participants can probably expect an incomplete game full of bugs, glitches and incompatible phones. Bethesda promises it will try to increase the number of supported iOS and Android devices as time goes on, but Early Access participants who don’t own the devices listed in the FAQ are out of luck for now.
