Today Square Enix showcased a nice bunch of gameplay of the upcoming survival action game Left Alive.
The broadcast was presented by game director Toshifumi Nabeshima of Armored Core fame and Project Manager Koichiro Sakamoto with pop singer Nami Tamaki as a celebrity guest.
Tamaki-san immediately takes the controls to play a scene at the beginning of the game, in which she gets to wreak havoc on the enemy with the weapons of an immobilized Wanzer as Mikhail. We also immediately get to see the dialogue options in action.
The second clip shows the first chapter featuring Olga as she gets to first meet the support AI Koshka and then explores a devastated district dealing with several enemies with stealth and guile. Interestingly, Tamaki-san is much better at the game than the previous celebrity guests. At the end of this sequence, she has to escort a civilian to safety by ordering him to move or stop.
The third segment of gameplay puts Tamaki-san at the controls Leonid as he gets to pilot a Volk Wanzer, and finally, we get to see an extended section of mecha gameplay. Unfortunately, she doesn’t really know the controls and dies rather quickly. At this point, Nabeshima-san takes the controller to show us how it’s done, and indeed he does better but ends up dying as well. He was extremely depressed about that for the rest of the livestream.
We also get to see a screenshot showing off a collaboration with World of Tanks which puts posters in the game, the logo on the character’s backpack, dedicated tank data in the database.
We also see the Klyuch weapon included in the Survival Pack that comes with Day One edition for PS4 and another bonus in the form of a crowbar.
