Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, the newest installment in the Pokemon franchise has released for the Nintendo Switch. Set in Kanto, Let’s Go puts players on a journey to relive the original Red and Blue, but this time, it features integration from the widely successful Pokemon Go.

Catching wild Pokemon has changed this time around. Gone are the days of having to weaken your enemy before capturing them. Now, there is no more battling the Pokemon you see in the wild. You will still be tasked with capturing them, and encouraged to capture multiples.

After catching a handful of your favorites, it’ll be time to challenge trainers around Kanto. Once you’ve defeated all of them, you’ll want to take your team online against friends.

How do you do that exactly, though? Well, look no further because we have the answer right here.

Battling Friends in Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee

  • You need to hit X to open up the main menu.
  • Choose Communicate from there.
  • Select Play With Others.
  • Choose between Internet or Wireless.
  • Decide on a link code to join each other.
  • Enter the link code.
  • Choose battle once you’re in a room together.

First, hit the X button to open your main menu, from there you can select the Communicate option. After selecting Communicate you’ll want to select the Play With Others option. Next, you will select either the Internet or Local Wireless Connection option depending on how you’re trying to connect to your friends.

Both you and your friend will need to decide on a link code to join each others room. Once you’ve both decided on a link code, enter it in, and you’ll begin to join each others session. Once you’re in a room together you can choose to battle. Pokemon Let’s Go currently supports single and double battles.

Now that you’re all set up its time to duke it out with your friends and see who really deserves the title of Master. Don’t forget you can transfer your Pocket Monsters from Pokemon Go, which will help you fill out your Pokedex and give you a bigger roster to choose from when battling your friends.
