Revealed during Epic’s State of Unreal panel at the Game Developer’s Conference 2018, the feature will allow players to record and edit footage from matches and control in-game cameras using a gamepad-friendly interface. Players can also toggle through the game’s UI for additional information ranging from player health to player names for use in videos.

Epic says the feature will be available to players soon, with the feature set to launch this summer alongside the release of Unreal Engine version 4.20.

The mode was rumored to be on the way earlier this week after datamining of the game’s 3.3.0 patch revealed assets related to replay and video editing in the sound directory. Along with a new folder titled replay, icons related to video editing and a browser function for the UI were found within the game’s data.

Fortnite Battle Royale is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mobile. For more on the game, check out Epic’s plans for the game during this year’s E3 as well as our coverage on how a celebrity’s stream of the game broke viewership records on Twitch.
