Storage Town & Armored SUV

Storage Town Caldera Map

Storage Town makes its grand return to the Call of Duty franchise in the latest Caldera map update. A few of the landmark’s designs are a callback to the previous artwork of Verdansk, which includes similar objects like the water tower, lockers, and central buildings.

Players will find the town much more accessible to maneuver since this version of the area allows you to use the high ground. With this in mind, you’ll be able to utilize nearby hills to jump on top of the rooftops and obtain valuable items. In addition, you can use a Buy Station to spawn closer to the Airfield.

An Armored SUV will also be available alongside the notorious Storage Town. This four-passenger vehicle provides players with a quick getaway that can defend their team wherever they go. Furthermore, your comrades may use the Heavy Machine Gun against enemies, but be aware that soldiers may be at risk since enemies can quickly shoot at them. Finally, if all else fails, the driver can use the vehicle’s Nitro Boost to escape challenging situations.

Mercenary Bunker Takeover

Bunkers in Caldera

The foliage and trees of Caldera have decreased in various areas of the map to ensure better visibility for players. However, since there are new open spaces, Mercenary campsites are now located near the Resort to the Runway.

The Mercenaries have also taken control of the seven main bunkers, where you’ll need a Key Card to open the door. Unfortunately, these items can be tricky because they are rare to find and can only be used once on each bunker. Nevertheless, if your team is lucky enough to acquire a Key Card, everyone will be rewarded with gold, weapons, and equipment once inside.

New Landmarks and Structures Around the Peak

The Peak Caldera map

Longtime Operators will undoubtedly notice further adjustments to the Peak in Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone. The first change is the addition of staircases on the Summit, resulting in more effortless movements for players. Additionally, a new industrial area provides valuable supplies on the north side of the Peak.

If you look to the east of the Summit, you’ll spot a military camp where deforestation has occurred. The Gondola Station will also include green tents and a step-like platform that guides you to the Main Station and the Peak.

The Removal of Rivers

Changes to Caldera map

The absence of rivers in Caldera is one of the most notable differences on the island. The catastrophic war and multiple constructions of buildings have caused areas with water to dry up. For example, the river southeast of the Peak has evaporated, while the shallow water near the Docks has also receded.

Other locations that have lost water include the pool on the cliff bridge, the Farmlands, the Radio Station, the Factory, and the Village. With all these changes, players will no longer struggle to maneuver around these bodies of water. But if you still want to dip your toes, you can find shallow pools north and south of the Mines.

The remaining changes to the Caldera map are minor location updates from Season 4. Here is a list of some of the areas you can check out:

  • A new Logging Station.
  • Scaffolding and bridges are now on the rooftops within the Capital.
  • After the events of a successful excavation, the skulls and bones at the Dig Site are no longer present.
  • Explore the Arsenal to find a drydock loaded with items, Supply Boxes, and possible CQB (close-quarter battle.)

Even with all these new places, there may still be other areas that players have yet to discover. So, players will have the chance to look for any remote parts of Caldera to find exclusive items and gear.
