Today Square Enix is releasing update 6.08 for its ultra-popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
While the servers aren’t open just yet (they will open at 2:00 am PST), the update can already be downloaded, and it’s a small one, approximately 90 MB.
Yet, it brings quite a few tweaks to jobs, which you can read in the full patch notes that have already been published.
Another big change is the opening of the Oceanian data center, called “Materia” and including the following servers.
- Bismarck
- Ravana
- Sephirot
- Sophia
- Zurvan
Characters transferred to the new servers (world transfers will reopen tomorrow) or newly created there will receive a double XP bonus up to level 80.
Of course, the update also fixes a bunch of small nags that cropped up between the launch and the Endwalker expansion and now, including an annoying audio issue that was affecting some users.
Incidentally, if you still haven’t grabbed Endwalker, you can take part in our giveaway for a chance to win a copy.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC. The upgrade to PS5 is offered free of charge to those who own the PS4 version. The Endwalker expansion has just been released a couple of months ago.
A few weeks ago, we learned that the game is so successful that Square Enix had to suspend sales in order to alleviate the congestion of the servers. Luckily, they will be resumed today following the improvement of the server congestion.
