For the most part, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus funnels you into a certain ending no matter what you do. Despite the illusion of choice, you’re kind of forced into the same path every time. However, there is a way to get a slightly different ending that ends on a slightly more positive note than the regular ending. Here’s how to get what is generally considered the good, best, and/or true ending in DDLC Plus.
Spoiler warning: This guide will be spoiling the normal (bad) ending and the good (best) ending of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Do not go any further if you wish to avoid spoilers.
How to Get Secret, Good, Best, or True Ending in DDLC Plus
Normally when you play through the main story of Doki Doki Literature Club, you move through three distinct acts. The game will restart a few times, but you’ll always end up face to face with Monika in the void and are forced to delete her character file or just leave her there and stare into her eyes forever. Whatever floats your boat.
If you choose to delete her, the game will reset without her and Sayori will become the new president of the Literature Club. Monika will then step and prevent the events from repeating and just delete everyone, lamenting that there’s no joy to be found in the Literature Club. You’ll then need to reset the game entirely and you’ll be back to square one.
To get the good, best and/or true ending in DDLC Plus, you’re going to need to see all three of Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri’s private CG scenes. This is done by writing a poem specifically for them each chance you get.
The easiest and quickest way to get that done is to make a save file before you write the first poem at the start of the game. Pick one of the girls to write a poem to, and stick with them throughout. Side with them every chance you get, and play through until you have seen their CG cutscene and are back with Monika on the day of the festival. Create a save file at this point.
Do not go too far and view Sayori’s death scene otherwise the run has been corrupted and you’ll need to start over.
Once you have a save file that is logged after you’ve viewed each individual girl’s CG scene, you can then proceed to Sayori’s death scene and play the game normally.
The game from this point on will progress exactly the same. So, unfortunately, yes, you’ll need to torture the Dokis one last time. Sorry. Use the skip feature to speed the process up.
When you get to the void with Monika, allow her to talk until she has you make a poem for her. Go ahead and do that, and let her talk some more until you get to the point where she’s just staring into your eyes and saying random things every once in a while.
Now you can delete Monika’s character file (instructions on how to do that here just in case you need it), and restart the game.
At this point, you’ve successfully unlocked the secret good ending. We won’t spoil what happens. Just play through the rest and enjoy.

How to get secret good ending in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus:
- Create a save file right before the first poem.
You’ll be reloading this each time you start working on a new girl.
- Write a poem for Sayori each time and view all 3 of her CGs. Create a new save file after reaching the day of the festival. Do not view Sayori’s death scene.
Make sure to tell Sayori that you love her when given the chance in order to see her final CG.
- Reload from before the first poem, and repeat the above process for Natsuki. Create a new save file after reaching the day of the festival. Do not view Sayori’s death scene.
Side with Natsuki when she argues with Yuri.
- Reload from before the first poem, and repeat the above process for Yuri. Create a new save file after reaching the day of the festival.
Side with Yuri when she argues with Natsuki.
- You may now continue the game as normal until you reach the void with Monika. Delete her character file after you’ve written a poem for her and she has begun to stare at you.
- You are now on the track for the secret ending. Play through as you normally would, re-running the game until you are back at the start with Sayori as president.
