Doki Doki Literature Club is just your average visual novel, nothing strange about it at all. No psychological horror or anything like that. So because of this, there might be times where you’ll want to skip through dialog and cutscenes… All kidding aside, there are some legitimate and practical reasons you might want to skip dialog & cutscenes in DDLC Plus, aside from just… not wanting to read. Here’s how to do that.
How to Skip Dialog & Cutscenes in DDLC Plus
In order to see everything that the main campaign of Doki Doki Literature Club has to offer you’re going to need to do multiple runs through the game. Or, at the very least, create early saves and backtrack.
However, there’s a lot of filler and set-up dialog in Act 1 of the game and after playing through it one time, you may not be keen for another round.
To skip dialog quickly, you can press the Skip button at any time during the game. If it’s not highlighted, it’s because you haven’t seen the text yet and DDLC Plus defaults to not allowing you to skip content you haven’t seen. To turn that off and allow you to skip anything, go to Settings while in the campaign or a side story, and where it says Skip Options select both Skip Unseen Text and Skip After Choices. This will allow a full skip through of everything until you hit skip again to stop and return to normal speed.
Even if you plan on reading everything, you’ll want to use it at least Skip through a certain section with Yuri in Act 2 of the game. You’ll know it when you get there.
If you don’t want to blast through everything without reading, but don’t want to constantly hit a button to keep the cutscenes moving, you can hit Auto instead which will progress things for you. You can alter the Text Speed and Auto Forward Time in the Settings as well to keep things moving faster as the default is quite slow.
