Genshin Impact PS5 Version Set to Launch This Month, miHoYo Announces

Earlier today Twinfinite reported the release of a trailer introducing new content set to feature in Genshin Impact’s upcoming Update 1.5, Beneath the Light of Jadeite. Since then, a detailed article over on the PS Blog has revealed new details, but importantly for owners of Sony’s PS5 console, it also confirmed that the launch of Update 1.5 will coincide with the PS5 update.

Zhenzhong Yi, studio technical director at miHoYo, explains:

“We are extremely excited to announce that a native version of Genshin Impact for PlayStation 5 will be released on April 28. With native support for PlayStation 5 comes 4K resolution, enhanced textures, and faster loading times.”

Of course, the update itself was announced earlier this month, but the release date had been kept under wraps until now.

Although Genshin Impact on PS5 already runs substantially better than its PS5 counterpart, the upgraded resolution, textures, and zippy loading times are going to be a huge boon.

As for what there is to look forward to in terms of new content coming in Update 1.5, you can head over to our breakdown based on today’s Genshin Impact livestream.

Genshin Impact is now available for PS4, PC, iOS, and Android. A PS5 version is coming this spring and a Switch version also planned down the line. We still don’t have a specific release date for Nintendo’s console.
