Ace Combat 7: Skies Uknown

Ace Combat 7 Composer Plays For Us on Brand New Ace Combat YouTube Channel, and it’s Glorious

Today Ace Combat developer Project Aces opened a brand new YouTube channel dedicated to the franchise.

Recommended Videos

The channel debuted with two videos featuring ultra-talented composer Keiki Kobayashi playing two of his compositions for the series.

The first that you’ll see below is the main theme of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, followed by the theme of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.

This initiative was born from an idea on how to provide entertainment to the fans stuck at home due to the Coronavirus emergency.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried all the way through the two videos that you can watch (and listen to) below. Ace Combat’s music just clicks with me.

If you’re unfamiliar with Kobayashi-sensei’s work, he has created the soundtracks of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on top of Ace Combat 4, 5, 6, and Zero. He also worked on plenty of other series like SoulCalibur, Tekken, and Ridge Racer.

If you’d like to know in detail why Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is so good, you can read my full review. You can also watch the previous trailer released to celebrate the last DLC.

The game is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We already know that more aircraft are coming via DLC at some point.

The development team is likely already planning for the next step for the franchise, as mentioned in my recent interview with Brand Director Kazutoki Kono and Producer Manabu Shimomoto.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
