While Cygames has been showing more gameplay of the upcoming action JRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink, its story is still a mystery.
It features familiar characters, but the information we had so far did not place them in a specific point of the Granblue Fantasy storyline.
To know more, Twinfinite asked director Tetsuya Fukuhara directly, and he provided more insight on how the story will be framed. It’s actually rather exciting insight for fans of the original game.
We learn that at some point in the future, the original Granblue Fantasy mobile game will see our crew finding their way to a new Skydom (basically a region in the franchise’s unique sky world). The story of Granblue Fantasy relink will be set in this Skydom.
That being said, it won’t be exactly the same as the story that it will unfold in the mobile game, being instead basically a side story.
