Dragon Ball Z Kakarot: Can You Respec? Answered

The RPG elements in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot are a boon for fans of the genre, but you wouldn’t be alone in wondering: Can you respec your character’s skills after they’ve been unlocked? Well, for better or worse, we’ve got an answer for you.

Can You Respec in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot? Answered

As it stands, no, you cannot respec your character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Once you’ve allocated your Z Orbs into a certain skill or technique, you can’t undo the action and allocate them to a different skill instead.

The only way to undo any character specing you do is to revert to an earlier save or, if you feel the mistake you made is bad enough, starting the game over from scratch.

It’s a bit of a harsh and rigid development approach, but also one intended to make players think about what kind of build they want to give the characters they play as.

Will Respecing Ever Be Added to the Game?

As for whether the feature might be added at a later time, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Past Dragon Ball titles like Dragon Ball Xenoverse have had a respecing option, and it has been met positively by fans when it was included. As such, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say respecing is a feature fans will miss in this game, and will ask for accordingly through an update perhaps.

However, given the extra strain and time investment this would put on the game’s developer, demand would have to be pretty widespread across a decent portion of the game’s players.

Hopefully this cleared up whether you can Respec in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot or not. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki. It has plenty of other guides on topics like how to use Z Combos and how to play as Piccolo.
