Vanquish and Bayonetta 4K Remasters Announced for PS4 and Xbox One

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Two classic action games, PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta and Vanquish, are getting updated for modern consoles. Sega has announced a 10th-anniversary remaster pack will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One on February 18, 2020.

Both games updated to 4K and 60fps, on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Take a look at the announcement trailer down below.

Both classics in their own right, Bayonetta helped launch a new gaming icon of the same name, who has since become a playable character in Super Smash Bros.

The bundle of the two games will be available both digitally and physically for $39.99. Physical editions come with a gorgeous embossed steelbook featuring brand new art by Dan Dussault.

If you pre-order the bundle digitally on PS4, however, you’ll get two original themes. Here’s the info via Sega.

  • Bayonetta & Vanquish Theme – available instantly for all digital pre-orders, will not be available at or after launch.
  • Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Theme – available for a limited time for all pre-orders and purchases up to March 3, 2020 – two weeks after launch.

If you’re unfamiliar, Bayonetta is an Umbral Witch who can shapeshift and actually use her hair for various abilities. Created by the legendary Hideki Kamiya, creator of Devil May Cry, the title sports a similar character action system with loads of different combos and weapon options.

Vanquish, on the other hand, is a high-octane shooter that takes place in the future. You follow Sam Gideon, a DARPA agent given the mission of stopping a massive terrorist attack on New York City.

Vanquish is best known for its insanely fast action, letting you rocket-boost across the ground at high-speed.

We’ve actually written about Vanquish before, and how there’s pretty much nothing else out there like it.

You can visit the official site for even more information, and pre-order for the bundle will go live across all major retailers today.
