Go Catch Yourself a Shiny Magikarp This Week in Sword and Shield

Max Raid Battles in Pokemon Sword and Shield are really fun to do with friends over and over again –it’s the only reason why I jump into the game anymore to be quite honest. And this week, The Pokemon Company is giving players even more reason to hop online with friends and strangers alike and that reason is Magikarp.

I know, Magikarp might be the most useless Pokemon of all time but once that baby hits level 20, it turns into the ever-powerful Water/Flying-type Pokemon, Gyrados.

You’ll be able to kick off the new year right because, for a limited time, Dens in the Wild Area in Sword and Shield will have a higher chance of having shiny versions of Magikarp.

This special Shiny Magikarp event will only be going on until Jan. 3 so make sure to get some friends and capture as many Magikarp as you can get your hands on.
