How to Get the Bicycle in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Just like in past entries of the series, there’s always a bicycle to obtain at some point in your typical Pokemon game, and the same rings true for Pokemon Sword & Shield.

In this game, you can actually get it fairly early on, and all you have to do is obtain your first Gym badge before you’re able to obtain it. After getting the Grass badge, head on to Route 5, and you’ll encounter a man being harassed by some Team Yell lackeys on the bridge.

Defeat the Team Yell grunts, and the man will hand over the bicycle. Now, you can simply press the + or – buttons, and your character will automatically get on the bike. You can also press the B button to give yourself a short speed boost with the help of Rotom. This should allow you to get around the world much quicker.

To recap, here’s how to get the bicycle in Pokemon Sword & Shield:

  1. Progress through the story until you obtain the Grass badge in Turffield.

  2. Head to Route 5 and you’ll see a man being harassed by Team Yell.

  3. Defeat Team Yell, and the man will hand over the bicycle.
