This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Joining in on the spooky festivities, Fortnite will see its Fortnitemares event return to the Battle Royale mode later today.

The news comes via a tweet from the official Fortnite Twitter account. The tweet doesn’t really give us a whole lot to go off, with a simple start time, and a creepy silhouette staring back at you.

While the tweet doesn’t give a whole lot away on its own, there’s a good chance that players can expect at least some sort of Limited-Time Mission for players to earn some spooky cosmetics. We may also see some sort of special, Limited-Time mode that sees the return of the Cube Fiends that first appeared in last year’s event.

Additionally, it’s likely that Fortnitemares will also bring some new weapons to the table. Last year, the rocket launcher was replaced with a Pumpkin variant that screamed as it went. We also saw the Fiend Crossbow and Six Shooter Revolver added last year, though whether or not we’ll get something similar yet remains to be seen.

Fortnitemares will kick off in Fortnite across all platforms later today at 9 am ET/ 6 am PT. There’s no word on when the event will end yet, but chances are it’ll probably last about a week or two.

We’ll be covering everything Fortnitemares when it starts later today, so be sure to check back soon for all your guiding needs. Our Fortnite Chapter 2 guide wiki, in particular, is a great place to start.
