Gears 5 is a doozy of an entry in the Gears of War franchise, and if you’re like many other players, you’re probably wondering how to save your game to take a breather from the adrenaline.
How to Save in Gears 5
Fortunately, the answer is to not do anything at all.
Like most other modern video games, Gears 5 utilizes an auto-save system that saves the game automatically at certain points in the game.
These moments include checkpoints in the game’s different chapters, the moment immediately following cutscenes, and the beginning and end of levels respectively.
Gears 5 will likewise let you know that the game is saving at all of these points by displaying a Coalition symbol above the word checkpoint in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Does Gears 5 Have a Manual Save Feature?
Of course, some might still be wondering if Gears 5 has a manual save feature to ensure they know the game has recorded their progress through their own actions.
Unfortunately, the answer to that is no. Gears 5 only has its auto-save function for recording the game’s progress. Rest assured, though, that the game saves frequently enough to ensure progress loss is minimized to a degree that you aren’t likely to see it more than once, if at all.
As such, you can make your way through the game’s tale of Kait searching for the truth behind her family’s history and their link to the rise of the Locusts without fear of losing play time.
Every Locust ripped limb from limb, and every dynamic set piece, will be safely recorded so that you can barrel through the experience as quickly or slowly as you see fit.
In short,
- Auto-save is the only way to save in Gears 5. There is no way to do it manually at all.
