How to Power Up Fabricator in Gears 5 Horde

At the beginning of each Horde match, the Fabricator needs to be moved in order for it to start working, and for the match to begin. If you played Gears of War 4 you’re, no doubt, familiar with the Fabricator system, which lets you create defenses and weapons.

As soon as you move the Fabricator it’ll automatically start working, however, you do need “Power” in order to buy any defense or weapons.

How to Get Power

Power is the all-important resource of Gears 5’s Horde mode, and there’s basically one way of getting it, killing enemies.

When you kill enemies they’ll drop a resource that looks like a little yellow drop with a lightning bolt. This is Power, and you can stockpile it on your person to use. Just keep in mind that if you’re killed, all that Power goes to waste.

Using Power

Once you have Power you have two different options for using it, the first is buying defenses and weapons from the Fabricator, and the second is buying perks for yourself.

To deposit your Power in the Fabricator simply run over to it and press X, then press X again to store it. All players can dump Power into the Fabricator to keep pumping out new defenses.

Alternatively, if you want to buy perks instead, you’ll need to do that in between rounds. Before the next round starts hit Y to bring up the perks menu and then using the D-pad to select which one you want.

Perks can be a valuable way to give yourself a slight boost, and it’s important to keep them in mind as well.

They can do things like increase precision weapon damage by 2 percent, and each one can be upgraded 10 times, boosting the percentage even more.

Your best bet is to use a mix of perks and the Fabricator, in order to keep not only yourself, but your team strong.

To summarize,

  1. At the start of each Horde match move the Fabricator.

  2. As you kill enemies you’ll collect Power, a resource that looks like a little yellow drop with a lightning bolt.

  3. To add Power to the Fabricator run over to it and press X, then press X again to deposit Power.

You can also keep Power and use it to purchase Perks in between rounds.

That’s everything you need to know about how to power up the Fabricator in Gears 5 Horde.
