The main thing you’ll need to know about purchasing perks is that they can only be bought between each new way.

How to Buy Perks in Gears

In between each wave, open up the small Perks menu by pressing Y.

In this menu, you’ll notice that each character has a different set of options to choose from.

Depending on which character you pick, these unique advantage will allow for things like critical damage increases, increased ammo capacity, damage as cooldown etc.

In order to purchase these perks, you’ll need to use the power that drops every time enemies are defeated.

When you defeat enemies, Power drops in the form of a little yellow drop that has a lightning bolt over it. Depositing these in the fabricator allows everyone to use it, while holding on to them allows you to invest them into your perks, or just keep it for yourself to use at the Fabricator.

As you play throughout the round, be sure to keep an eye on how much you have.

Each character has four slots, each of which can be upgraded 10 times. Every time you upgrade a perk, it increases the effectiveness of it.

For example, Fahz has a perk that increases precision weapon damage by + 2% the first time you upgrade, with that percentage increasing with each successive upgrade of that particular perk.

  1. Press Y between each horde wave to open the Small Perks menu

  2. Use Power you pick up from defeated enemies to purchase specific character advantage

  3. Perks vary from critical damage increases, increased ammo capacity, damage as cooldown etc.

  4. Each character has four perks that can be upgraded 10 time
