The Gunfight mode, shown in a trailer last month, pits two teams of two players against each other in single elimination rounds. The first team to win five rounds wins the game.

Each team starts with the same “random” weapon loadout every round including “pistol and rocket launcher combos to scoped shotguns.”

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha will contain five close-quarters maps: Docks, King, Pine, Speedball, and Stack. It will run for a limited time only on PlayStation 4, beginning on Friday, Aug. 23 until Sunday, Aug. 25.

The alpha will be a free download for anyone with a PlayStation 4 and an internet connection to play. No PlayStation Plus membership or pre-order is required.

A trailer for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha was shown during Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live presentation held at Gamescom 2019, posted below.

A beta will be coming to PlayStation 4 first in September with other platforms following. A pre-order is necessary to access the beta first, then will open up to all players.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be launching Oct. 25 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
