Blasphemous Developer Offering Free Demo For a Limited Time, Available Now

The upcoming side-scrolling Metroidvania Blasphemous is nearing its Sept. 10 release date, but if you’re wanting to try before you buy then developer The Game Kitchen has the hot ticket. For a limited time, there’s a free Steam demo of Blasphemous, and it’s available right now.

Blasphemous caught our eye earlier this year with its gorgeous pixelated aesthetic, which brings to life dark fantasy world inspired by classics like Castlevania.

The game’s description reads:

” Explore this nightmarish world of twisted religion and discover its many secrets hidden deep inside. Use devastating combos and brutal executions to smite the hordes of grotesque monsters and titanic bosses, all ready to rip you limb from limb.

Locate and equip relics, rosary beads and prayers that call on the powers of the heavens to aid you in your quest to break your eternal damnation. “

Its gameplay is reminiscent of that series’ most iconic game, too: Symphony of the Night. Action-RPG combat, punishing difficulty, and a rocking soundtrack means that Blasphemous has every chance of being one of the big indie hits of 2019.

But there’s no need to take our word for it; head over to the game’s Steam page and download the demo to give it a whirl for yourself. See you there.

Otherwise, you can wait until Blasphemous releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 10.
