Today Compile Heart showcased even more gameplay of its upcoming Azur Lane console game Azur Lane: Crosswave.
The first video shows some battle gameplay in normal difficulty mode, featuring a team of Kaga, Akagi, and Bismark as main fleet, with Lexington, Hornet, and Yorktown. That’s certainly a lot of carriers.
The second video moves on to hard mode, which ramps the difficulty up and removes the ability to dodge for battleships. This time around we see Nagato, Suruga, and Bismark on the front line, with Yamashiro, Mikasa, and Arizona forming the support fleet.
The third video shows more story gameplay, featuring a rather unsettling meeting with the siren Purifier for Shimakaze and Suruga. Keep in mind that the video is (as usual) marked as spoilery content, but if you can’t understand Japanese, you’re likely fine.
Incidentally, speaking of the mobile game, Yostar announced a new bikini skin for Gascogne that is coming to the Japanese servers. Unfortunately, this is likely not coming to the English servers simply because we don’t have Gascogne just yet.

Azur Lane: Crosswave will launch on the Japanese shelves on August 29, 2019, for PS4. A western release has recently been announced for 2020.
If you’re unfamiliar with the original Azur Lane game, it’s a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.
If you’re interested in the franchise as a whole, you can also check out our report of the event Yostar organized in Yokosuka, Japan.
