The series, which we recently learned starts airing in Japan in October, is titled Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle, and despite the title counts 25 episodes.

This makes it a rather long one in an anime scene that pretty much settled on the twelve-episode format for most series.

The protagonist, named Ash (who is usually mute in the game), is voiced by Daisuke Ono (whom you might know as Jotaro Kujo, Snow Villiers from Final Fantasy XIII and many more roles). The rest of the cast will retain its original voices from the game.

The series will follow the story of Phantasy Star Online 2 between Episodes 1 and 3.

The animation is designed by the popular Studio GONZO, and it certainly shows in the trailer, which you can enjoy below.

If you want to know more about the game, which is coming west in 2020 Xbox One and PC a whole eight years after its original release in Japan, you can check out the announcement from E3.

It’s available for PS4, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, and PC in Japan, and Phil Spencer himself heavily hinted that it might end up on all platforms in the west as well, at some point.
