Fallout 76 has joined in on the battle royale fun with the release of Nuclear Winter. It’s a 52-player last-team-standing affair where the storm is always moving and players can launch nukes to decimate anyone and anything that’s in the blast radius. As such, you’ll want to keep an eye on the map at all times, so here’s how you can open the map and check the storm circle.
Opening the Map in Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter
If you’re looking to open the map and see whereabouts you are in relation to the next storm circle, or just see what’s in your nearby vicinity, all you need to do is press the Options button on PS4, or the Menu button on Xbox One.
This will open up the map, and you’re then free to place markers and zoom in and out as you see fit.
Once you’re done looking at the map, simply press Circle on PS4 or B on Xbox One and you’ll be returned back to the action. Don’t make the mistake of pressing the touchpad or View button, as this will just cycle between the first and third-person perspectives.
Checking the Storm Circle
Once you’ve got your map opened, you’ll then be greeted with something similar to the screen below. Here, you can get an idea of the current storm circle, and where the next storm circle is going to be.
In the image above that shows you the open map, the pale, visible larger circle is obviously the current storm circle. Then, the smaller, paler circle up towards the top of the larger one is where the next storm circle will be.
Out of the map view, you’ll see a bar in the top-right corner of the screen indicating your current position and proximity to the encroaching storm.
The red section of the bar moves closer to the yellow segment at the end as the storm circle moves in, so you can use this to gauge whether or not you’re moving in the right direction towards the storm and whether you risk being caught in the storm.
That’s everything you need to know on how to open the map and storm circle in Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
