During its launch five years ago, Sony initially felt that EA Access did not bring the value that PlayStation customers expect on its platform, but as the library of offerings has grown, Sony has slowly changed its mind.

EA Access gives subscribers a chance to check out the latest EA titles up to a week before their release, offers a 10% discount on EA digital goods and brings with it a catalog of over 50 games to download and play.

Although the games that EA offers within its subscription service is growing larger by the day, it may seem a little lighter compared to its Xbox One counterpart due to the PS4’s lack of backward compatibility.

Games such as Skate 3 will, unfortunately, be left out of the service on Sony’s platform, but even without backward compatibility, EA Access still has a lot to offer.

Although there may be fewer games for EA Access on PS4 out of the gate, there is no denying that it is still a great value.  For as little as $5 a month, players have access to games like Battlefield V, Star Wars:  Battlefront 2, Madden NFL 19, Titanfall 2 and more.

For gamers that were planning to purchase Madden 20 or Fifa 20, EA Access offers them the unique chance to try before they buy.  The Play First Trial will allow members to play these games completely free for up to five days before their launch, bringing any progress they make over to the full game.

EA Access had a celebrated success on Xbox One and Sony is now looking to bring that same success to their console when it launches on July 24th.
