Fans have been clamoring for a new Animal Crossing game since the Nintendo Switch was announced. Last year during a Nintendo Direct Animal Crossing 2019 was announced and that’s all the information fans have had to hold onto until today.

It’s no surprise you start the game incredibly in debt to Tom Nook and will have to pay off 49,800 Bells.

The trailer opens up with a villager camping and crafting items at Tom’s Workbench. Upgrading the small starting island seems to be the main gameplay loop, but no additional details are known at this time.

It is unclear if expanding this island will be the only area of the game or if you will adventure to a bigger space as the game progresses.

However, the trailer ends with villagers looking out onto the horizon. We’re not sure where this game will take us, but we do know that Animal Crossing has been delayed until March 20, 2020.

The team needs more time to finish development on this title and more will be shown later today during Nintendo Treehouse Live.
