New Astral Chain Artwork Pops Up on Nintendo’s Japanese eShop

Nintendo has recently added a new game page for Astral Chain on the Japanese eShop under their “Upcoming Releases” section.

Here we get our first look at the official and, might I say, stylish artwork by Masakazu Katsura (ZETMAN, Video Girl Ai). Also featured in this artwork is a new logo, which differs from the one originally seen in the first trailer and press material for the game.

The two main characters, plus one of their Legions (robots who aid in your battle) are showcased in this new art behind a colorful city backdrop.

Astral Chain was a bit of a surprise when it was first announced back in back in February. Most people at the time thought we’d be seeing more details about Bayonetta 3 rather than hearing about a brand new Switch exclusive title.

Regardless, things have been heating up for Platinum Games as of late and with E3 looming around the corner, many fans expect to see more gameplay of Astral Chain very soon. Fans haven’t seen a new Platinum Games title released since the fantastic action RPG, NieR: Automata wowed us in 2017.

Eager players looking to pre-order the game digitally on either the US or Japanese eShop will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer. Even though the game page is live, there is no option to pre-order the game digitally at this time. Astral Chain will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019 for an MSRP of $59.99.

Credit to Xiphos Gaming over on Twitter for first discovering this on the Japanese Switch eShop.
