Via Variety, Gun Media has just announced that Friday the 13th: The Game is receiving an Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition. This new version will be released on the Switch this Spring and includes most of the DLC and previously published free content for the game.

Friday the 13th: The Game was originally released on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2017. The game is a seven against one multiplayer experience where one player controls Jason Voorhees and the rest play as Camp Crystal Lake counselors.

Jason’s goal for the game is to kill all of the counselors before time expires, and the counselors are attempting to escape the camp or evade Jason until the timer runs out.

This new Switch version will include all of the Jason Kill Packs, the two Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack. The Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition will not come with the exclusive clothing pack and character given to Kickstarter backers.

While talking to Variety about why they are making a Switch version of Friday the 13th: The Game Gun Media’s Director of Communications Daniel Nixon said:

“We’re happy to be bringing ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ to the Nintendo Switch with the help of our partners at Black Tower and Nighthawk. The Nintendo Switch offers a unique experience, in both social settings and on the go, that we feel work very well with ‘Friday the 13th: The Game.'”

Releasing Friday the 13th: The Game on Switch makes sense as it will make the title available to those who do not play on other systems. Hopefully, the new version can avoid the technical issues that hindered the original release of the game.
