PS4 Exclusive Days Gone Has Gone Gold

The good folks at Sony Interactive Entertainment Bend Studios just took to Twitter to announce that work on Days Gone has wrapped up.

The announcement means that the game has “gone gold” which in industry lingo means that the data for the retail disk has been finalized, and has been sent in for mastering.

This is the conclusion of a long journey for the developers at Sony Bend, who released their latest game in 2012 with Uncharted: Fight for Fortune on PS Vita. After that, the studio went through a series of prototypes trying to find the right fit for its talent, eventually going into Days Gone’s full production only in 2015 and announcing the game at E3 2016.

I’m positive that they feel quite elated to finally see their baby go off to be printed onto PlayStation 4 disks, soon to be played by hopefully millions of gamers.

If you want to see more about the game, you can enjoy a rather brutal trailer from Japan, another trailer showing off Deacon’s tragic wedding, some screenshots featuring his love with Sarah Whitaker, another trailer showing off the terrifying freakers, and some gameplay from Taipei Game Show.

Days Gone will release exclusively for PS4 on April 26, 2019.

RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
