Overcooked 2 Gets Free Chinese New Year Update

Overcooked 2 just received a Chinese New Year update that is bringing a bunch of brand new content to the game. Included in the update are kitchens, recipes, chefs, and a new game mode.

To access the game’s new kitchens, players will go to a new map similar to the main one used for the overworld. The map and kitchens have been themed for Chinese New Year and include new challenges like a “dancing dragon.”

Beating these kitchens will also require chefs to master the update’s new fruit platter and hot pot recipes. Additionally, players will also be able to play on any level with the new Chinese dragon and pig chefs.

The most exciting addition coming with the update is the Survival Game mode. In this mode, players are tasked with surviving for as long as possible and will need to add time to the clock by serving dishes.

Survival can be played on any kitchen from the main game, Surf ‘n’ Turf DLC, or seasonal updates.

Also included with the update, are a handful of bug fixes and quality of life changes. Arguably the most significant addition is the new replay button in the results screen. Team17’s full rundown of the new content and improvements can be found here. The update is available for download now.
