The 7.40 content update for Fortnite went live earlier today and adds the Driftboard mobility item for all three modes in the game.

The Driftboard is a hoverboard that allows players to quickly traverse the map, boost, pull tricks off, shoot at enemies, loot items, and revive players without stepping off the board. It is available in all three Fortnite modes: Battle Royale, Creative, and Save the World.

The new item is being billed as a limited-time item in Battle Royale and is part of the limited-time mode “Driftin’.” The new mode removes all chests and ammo boxes from the map and replaces it with red supply drops each containing a Driftboard, weapons, and ammo for two teams of 32 to fight to be the last team standing.

The Driftboard was initially planned for the 7.10 update last December, but Epic Games delayed its release prior to the scheduled patch. The studio said the delay was to “make some final quality of life changes and other polish improvements.”

The 7.40 Content update also adds the “Catch!” limited-time mode for Battle Royale announced last week alongside the final Frostnite challenge for the cooperative Save the World mode. The final challenge combines previous weeks’ challenges —Slip Out, New Wave Holiday, Cold Chaos, Uncharted Territory, and Top It Off— and is available to play on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. ET.
