During Electronic Arts’ quarterly financial conference call, Chief Financial Officier Blake Jorgensen talked about the publisher’s expectations for the performance of BioWare’s Anthem.

Jorgensen mentioned that the publisher expects to sell between five and six million units this fiscal year, which means before March 31, 2019.

The publisher is comfortable with this prediction based on what they have seen with the outcome of the demos. There is a lot of excitement and interest around the game, with players realizing that it’s a game that’s “unlike anything they have played.”

“The oportunity to work with different suits, to fly, to go into the water… I mean it’s fabulous mechanics as you play the game and people are enjoying it quite a bit.”

Jorgensen also expects the game to keep selling well for a long period of time as more content is added through the live services plan.

It’ll be interesting to see if BioWare will manage to turn the ship around with Anthem after the non-exactly stellar outing with Mass Effect Andromeda.

Anthem will release on Feb. 22, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
